The Gelendzhik Museum of History and Local Lore is one of the resort's most prominent cultural and scientific institutions, founded in 1909 by Mikhail Mikhailovich Reinke, a privy councilor and senior official in His Imperial Majesty's Chancellery. Since then, the museum has become a true repository of the region's history and culture.
The museum is actively developing its exhibits and exhibition activities, attracting the attention of both local residents and tourists.
For 2025, the museum proudly shares some statistics:
- 53 exhibitions were presented;
- more than 200,000 people visited;
- approximately 8,000 tours were conducted;
- more than 12,000 exhibits were presented;
- approximately 80,000 items from the main collection were preserved.
