Lovers' Bridge

A pedestrian cable-stayed bridge, built in 1987, connects the modern part of the city and the area of ​​historical wooden buildings. The name arose due to the tradition common among Tyumen newlyweds: attaching locks with names to the railings and throwing the key into the river.

However, not only romantic couples like to walk here. Lovers' Bridge – one of the recognizable business cards of Tyumen, in the evenings it is brightly illuminated, and on city holidays it offers the best views of the fireworks.

Local History Museum “City Duma”

Next to the Lovers' Bridge you can see a beautiful 19th century mansion with a high staircase and massive white columns. Before the revolution, the Tyumen City Duma was located here, and now it is a local history museum. The facade of the building is decorated with a large round clock, designed on the principle of the Kremlin chimes.

The museum exposition introduces the history of the region, flora and fauna. The museum is especially proud of its paleontological department, which displays skeletons of a mammoth, woolly rhinoceros, and cave bear, all perfectly preserved in permafrost conditions.

Holy Trinity Monastery

One of the oldest monasteries in Siberia was founded in 1616. The monastery complex, surrounded by a powerful white stone wall, is located on the high Zatyumensky cape, formed by the floodplains of the Tura, Babaryka and Tyumenka rivers.

The appearance of the monastery was formed over several centuries, so here you can see buildings of various architectural styles. The main temple, the five-domed Trinity Cathedral, is a striking example of Siberian Baroque. 

Siberian Cat Square

Geese, as we know, saved Rome, but Siberian cats became a real salvation for the Leningrad Hermitage. During the blockade, rats bred in the city, threatening to destroy the Hermitage treasures. The problem was solved by rat-catching cats, which were brought to Leningrad from Siberia, including Tyumen.

A sculpture composition dedicated to the tailed "special forces" is located in the park on Pervomayskaya Street. Twelve gilded cast-iron figurines depicting graceful cats were made at the famous Kasli plant of architectural and artistic casting.

Thermal resort "LetoLeto"
